Gabriel Estela Castrejon Obituary (1954

Gabriel "Gavilan" Estela Castrejon, 67 of Highwood, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Gabriel was born on February 26, 1954 in Quetzalapa, Guerrero, Mexico. He married Martha Ramirez and together they came to United States where they established a home in Highwood. He was very hard working, which led him to become a Chef at Arnie's Restaurant in Highland Park. He enjoyed traveling to Mexico, and leaves behind a beloved farm in Quetzalapa, where he spent most of his time. Gabriel will be dearly missed by his wife of over 40 years, Martha Ramirez de Estela; his children Gerardo Estela (Carolina Ibarra), Sujey Estela (Jose Gomez), and Marely Estela; grandchildren Emily Estela, Amy Gomez, Gerardo Estela, Sydney Gomez, Valerie Gomez, America Estela, and Camila Estela; his dear sisters Rebecca Estela and Ester Estela; extended family and many friends. His visitation will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 pm at The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan, 1521 Washington Street, Waukegan, IL 60085. His burial will be held at Panteón Municipal de Quetzalapa, in his dear hometown, Quetzalapa, Guerrero, Mexico. For more information please call, 847-623-3730.
