Jose Luis Viesca Guajardo Obituary (2024)

José Luis Viesca Guajardo, 64 of Waukegan passed away on November 2, 2024 after a long battle with cancer at Vista Health surrounded by his loving family. Jose Luis was born on March 3, 1960 in Coahuila, Mexico. He was the son of Jose Viesca and Juanita Viesca Guajardo. Jose Luis graduated from Waukegan East High School in 1978. Jose Luis worked at WMS Industries Inc. as a video machine specialist for over 25 years. His hobbies included playing pool, fishing, bowling, playing poker, going on casino trips and loved to grill. Most of all, he loved spending time with his friends and family. Survivors include his two sons Juan Jose Mendoza and Jesse Viesca. His daughter Gloria JoAnn Viesca, His mother Juanita Viesca Guajardo, His sisters, Norma (David) Tello, María (Tabin) Hurtado, Sonia(José) Aguilar, Denise (José) Hernández, Juanita (Rosalio) Valadez, many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Jose Luis was preceded in death by his father Jose Viesca. Jose Luis will be truly missed and forever be remembered. His family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the excellent care provided to him, by the staff at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital and Vista Medical Center East Emergency Room department. Jose Luis' visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan, 1521 Washington Street, Waukegan, IL 60085. His funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Church, 508 Grand Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085.
