Juan Ramon Sostre Obituary (2021)

Juan Ramon Sostre, 80, of Waukegan, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 15, 2021. Juan was born on January 27, 1941 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. He was one of four, beloved sons of Balbino Sostre and Carmen Reyes. Juan was the dad of all dads, one who raised his children to want to be like him. He was a provider, loved his family and was especially close to all his grandkids & great grandkids. He had a smile and charisma that would lighten up a room. He loved playing dominos and spending time with his family eating his favorite, Mikes Pizza. We are happy to know we will see him again in Heaven as he had made the decision to accept Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. Juan left an emptiness in our hearts but will forever be treasured for generations to come. Juan is survived by his dear wife Altagracia Sostre; children Jose Luis Sostre, Jorge (Maria) Sostre, Juan A. (Bertha) Sostre, David Sostre (special family friend Wilma), and Melissa Sostre-Howard (Wiley L. Howard Jr.); grandchildren, Korinna Marie Sostre, Jorge A. Sostre, Daniel A. Sostre, Dillon Sostre, Alexis J. Ortiz Sostre, Angel M. Ortiz Sostre, Anthony S. Ortiz Sostre, Eveianna Ryckman Sostre, Axel M. Sostre, Maria Magdalena Sostre, Alberto Sostre, Jose Sostre, Emily & Erika Sostre, Anthony B. Howard, and Angelica L. Howard; and great grandchildren Jeremiah M. Sostre, Jordan P. Sostre, Cristiano S. Sostre, Elias K. Sostre, Maia G. Martinez, Steven J. Sostre, and Nayeli R. Sostre; many nieces and nephews, extended family and countless friends. He is preceded in death by both parents Balbino Sostre and Carmen Reyes; dearest Balbina Sostre; beloved grandson Steven A. Sostre; and brother Iluminado Sostre. Juan’s visitation will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm at The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan, 1521 Washington Street, Waukegan, IL 60085. Family and friends are welcomed to gather prior to the service on Friday, May 21, 2021 beginning at 9:00 am with prayer service beginning at 11:00 am with Pastor Angelo Crespo and Pastor Olivera officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park cemetery, 330 Hunt Club Road, Libertyville, IL 60048.
