Mr Salgado Obituary (1954 - 2023)

Eloy Salgado Benitez, 68 years old, of Waukegan, passed away on October 14, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Eloy was born on December 1st, 1954 in Guerrero, Mexico. In 1966 his family moved to Veracruz, Mexico and in 1981 to Waukegan, Illinois. Eloy enjoyed the simple things in life, fishing, cooking and grilling, and watching tv. Some of his favorite shows include the Wheel of Fortune, the outdoor channel, and enjoyed watching late night shows and movies with his wife Margarita and daughter Maria Elena. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Left to honor his legacy are his dear wife Margarita; their four children, Deisy (Alan), Eloy Jr. (Erica), Nereida (Brian) and Maria Elena; grandchildren Kaitlyn, Maddie, Aidan, Jayden, Chloe, Jaxson and Maddox; and his dear pets Cubbie, Cafesito, Wrigley and Paloma; siblings Alma Delia, Guillermina, Luis, Rogelio, Margarita, Remigio, Juvenal, Arturo, Leonardo and Yeni; many nieces, nephews, extended family and life long friends. Eloy is preceded in death by his parents Leonardo Salgado and Maria C. Salgado and his sister Mardonia. His visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm at The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan, 1521 Washington Street, Waukegan, IL 60085. His final viewing will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 10:00 am at the funeral home as well. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, IL 60048.
